Coach Clark with Tre' Von Coney

The Bettendorf Community School District thanks Coach Clark for his 12 years of service as the Bettendorf High School Boys’ Basketball Head Coach and his tremendous impact on so many student-athletes.

“I greatly appreciate his dedication, positive impact, and leadership that he has provided for our student-athletes,” said Zach Shay, Activities Director. His guidance has been invaluable in teaching the game of basketball and life lessons. His influence has been instrumental in the success of the Bettendorf High School Boys Basketball Program. I wish Coach Clark all the best in his future endeavors.”

When Clark began his journey, his primary focus was to contribute to basketball through the players here at Bettendorf.

“My aim was to pass on the knowledge I had acquired from the previous coaches here at Bettendorf and from my own experiences as an athlete,” said Coach Clark. “Throughout this endeavor, I have had the privilege of working alongside some of the most dedicated, knowledgeable, and hardworking staff one could hope for. I am grateful for their unwavering support and camaraderie, and I will miss coaching with them.

I am also immensely grateful to our players and managers who placed their trust in us, constantly challenged us, and allowed us to push them beyond their perceived limits. Witnessing their growth and accomplishments, often surpassing their own expectations, has been immensely rewarding. Facilitating unity among teams, driven by a shared goal and fueled by hard work and sacrifice, has been a source of joy for me. However, above all, it is the relationships forged through coaching that I cherish the most. I eagerly anticipate continuing these relationships as we embark on new life chapters.

Reflecting on our achievements, both as a team and as individuals, fills me with pride. Equally gratifying is witnessing the growth and maturity of our players as they transition beyond their time at BHS. Bettendorf is a special place, and I am thankful for the opportunities and support extended to me by this district and community. While bidding farewell to this chapter is undoubtedly bittersweet, I am excited to take on a new role of support from the crowd. This journey has been truly unforgettable, and I extend my heartfelt gratitude to everyone who has been a part of it. Thank you.”

The district will be posting the position of Boys' Basketball Coach in the near future.
